I can't say I'm surprised. A lot of that stuff seemed like fan wishlist hype. Still, bummer. Especially the EP 8 title. For some reason, I'm really excited for that.

Remember the ones Melting down and crying what a shambles this celebration was, (cos their self entitlement wasn't fed) are the very same ones that melted down about the whole reshoots thing.
The section in Chris Taylor's book how Star Wars conquered the universe, about how the super hard core fans actually really hate Star Wars cos it doesn't ever succeed to exceed or even meet their own individual expectations, makes more sense now than ever.
It's tragic.
That same faction are now saying/threatening that we better get the trailer next week at comic con (or else!)
But it is really really unusual that LF didn't deliver anything of substance for general release on either.
The only big wins of the weekend was the news about Thrawn in Rebels and 8 will pick up exactly where 7 left off.
I watched a lot of the panels(awkward and pointless in a lot of ways) and the rest was just selling new products-video games action figures blah blah.
It was one huge advertisement and we wouldn't have noticed had there been a big reveal about 8 or R1.
The Han Announcement was pointless. Failed completely.

I almost sounded like one of the people I was talking about.
You'll have to take my word that I'm not even on the scale of these guys.
Some of the SW forums I'm on are in meltdown right now. This will go on indefinitely. Hope to fuck the trailer drops at comic con or there'll be months of this.

Bit strange.
Disappointed we didn't get anything. But delighted I didnt go to London for that. And I nearly did.

*the story picking up exactly where it left off is huge. It's never happened before as we all know but it's the first true sign that 8 is gonna be unlike any Star Wars film we've ever seen.
And that's great.

So... what's the crawl gonna be, if nothing has happened?

That is actually an intriguing question but there's no reason at all it can't explain the story/political landscape in the same tone it always has. The opening crawl of force awakens was probably the best one of all of them. They can do it again.

Actually rogue one will be unlike any star wars film we've seen first, so this will just be copy cat and lame

If you class it as a real Star Wars film maybe. I'm reserving judgement on that fully til I see it.

I called this after we saw FA.
If 8 opens where 7 left off. We can still have the classic star destroyer opening. Shuttle pops out and cut to the island and Rey meetin Luke. Then They see the shuttle coming. Kylo lands with the Knights of ren.
This is exactly what they filmed and Johnson says a large chunk of the film was filmed in Ireland, meaning ach to so I'm guessing it'll open with that scene we heard of a big battle. Luke wiping all the Knights out and Rey fighting Kylo and him running when he realises he's on his own against Luke.

The 'everyone' you speak of are the same ones I just referred to in the R1 thread. Need to be spoon fed. Thanks for making that point for me. But even a casual fan knows sw films usually have a gap between them
