It's a mid-tempo rock song with an acoustic guitar, so yeah in that sense it sounds like Oasis. But we have no idea what kind of cake-decorating it'll be covered with.

True. Interesting how this is unthinkable to some people.Release_Me wrote: Doesn't sound good to you, that's fine. To me, he sounds good. A lot of people hated PJ for the very reason that they didn't like the way he sounded on Ten. So there you go.
In the 90s I asked one of my dad's friends (guitarist) about what he thought of PJ, and he said he thought Ed sounded like shit and couldn't sing a note.Mine wrote:True. It won't - it only does at the moment due to being a single guitar being played 'live'.bluestate wrote:I'd feel much better ifMirella
came back on and reassured me that Sirens sounds nothing like Oasis

I don't know it's unthinkable; it's just kind of a conversation non-starter. I mean, it's pretty much another way of saying, "that's your opinion, man." There's no doubt Ed's singing back then (and his singing in general) is a turnoff for people.Mine wrote:True. yea, for sure... just trying to get the only person logged in right now who has heard this song to come back and tell us all how awesome Sirens is so that we can boost our expectations way too high...

No, I already heard it and can wait until it leaks or until Thursday when it is released. And I hope to bridge the days with more 'vignettes'harmless wrote:So is anyone looking for 'Sirens' early? If not, why not?

That said i did not really liked the song on first (and only) listen. But that means nothing. Usually those turn out to be the good songs!
But yeah my first impression was 80 power rock ballad
Trust me, it does not sound like Oasis at all. And I have seen Oasis live too. In fact, I have gotten to dislike Oasis recently. I was always more a Blur girlbluestate wrote:I'd feel much better ifMirella
