the last time i got food poisoning was from a fuddrucker's (about 35 years ago). i still get nauseated thinking about that horrid experience.

When my first son was less than a year old, he brought home some hellish bug from daycare. My wife and I were both incapacitated by it. She called my sister to come and get him. I remember lying on a bed in the guest room in the fetal position and falling a sleep a little. I woke up to warmth between my cheeks. It was pure liquid, not a lot, but I was mortified. I’d never shit myself as an adult before. A day or two later, after puking innumerable times, I managed to keep a popsicle down, and so I took a shower, thinking I’d got to the other side of it. I puked in the shower. I remember just bracing myself against the wall and crying, partially because my abdominal muscles were wracked from spasming, but also because I actually thought I was dying at 30. Fast forward a few months or a year, and it’s a holiday or something, and my brother-in-law said to me, “Remember when we took care of Jack when you were sick and then I got sick” I said yeah. He goes, “I shit myself, you know.” I died, but I felt very close to him in that moment.

Trumporrhea

5 weeks post op today. Still using the cane but my limp is almost gone. going to use it until the limp is fully gone. judging by how well it has been getting it will probably be a week from today.

I still get some random pain (by pain im talking like a 1.5 or a 2 on a scale of 10) when I lay down. I really want to lay on my left side but that is when it becomes annoying. either on my back or on my right side with a pillow between my legs works best.

Getting out of bed is easier each morning (since i slide out to the left) and it takes a minute for the hip to warm up but by the time i take the dog for a walk when i wake up it feels much better.

a classmate passed away over the weekend. the family is being very private about it and a celebration is to be planned in the spring since it was her favorite season.

she married her highschool sweetheart and leaves behind two daughters.

I first met her the summer between 5th-6th grade or 6th-7th grade. our moms worked together and they became really good friends. we did trips to erie pa (my mom shut my fingers in the car door and paused to open the door cause she thought i was joking) and to the wave pool (where the classmate saw me freeze on the high platform because i was scared shitless to jump and the guy with the microphone berated me until i did jump and gave myself the mother of all water wedgies)

as with most classmates we lost track of each other but within the last 5 years she was actually one of the nurses that stopped by to check on my step father during one of his ailments. she was going to stop at my place (lived right next door) but wasnt home.
