well I would have considered it a massive victory if this album had 3 'keeper' tracks that could stand their own in the PJ catalogue across all albums
i think we might have that
- DOTC regardless if you think it is 80s synthwave for beginners, is canon now
- River Cross is holy ground and I will personally fistfight any person that dares insult it (meet me where Aaron Burr smoked Hamilton)
- Quick Escape sounds like When the Levee Breaks and that's just fine with me (thank you Jeff Ament and Josh Evans)
Ed's surfrocker prideful cumming tracks don't matter anymore
we got three
can't bitch about it
playing with house money now

It's starting to seem inevitable that I forgive them for naming the album "Gigaton."

Still very, very wary of two such spritzy numbers opening up the record.

Will there be clips of all the songs before release?

I can easily picture Quick Escape heading strait for the gutter once we hear Ed's vocal contribution

Sure seems like we're gonna get one every day.
Make them stop!
You know you don't have to listen.
Gigaton...I'm okay with the name...but Notagig would've been more prescient.

That Slant Magazine review is pure begrudging. Comparing them to two bands one who broke up 26 years ago and another who imploded 10 times and is now a legacy zombie thing. PJ weathered the storms and fads and came out the other side intact. End of story.
The comparison to Cornell with the underhanded better singer slap is pathetic.

Yeah you can often tell someone has it in for them when they are essentially calling PJ also-rans.

My first reaction to all these songs, snippets and reviews is pure excitement
My 2nd reaction is been pissed off with the last 12-15 years of released recorded output.
I can’t help but think there is a veritable treasure trove of un-brendan O’Brien-ed sanctioned goodness in the vaults that’s in the can that will one day be released.

Ed’s vocals have been a highlight of the two songs we have heard so far.

I don't mean to just bash mindlessly, but I'm having my reservations remembering the butchering of the Infallible's otherwise OK instrumental foundation.

unfortunately, that instrumental foundation never leaves the earth. flat, lifeless, BOB'd. doesn't matter how ed sang it.
