had my 2 month follow up yesterday and all looks good. been given the ok to go back to the gym properly.

the weird part during the appointment is always looking at the xrays. they are moving the mouse around and because its my hips that are xrayed my junk shows up too

that’s why it’s always a good rule to work up a respectable semi before any medical procedure

I had back pain this week again, im now better but i feel i need to really take the gym a little more serious.

Last night I was taking pictures on a light rail platform with an old camera/timer setup. It was around midnight and I was the only person around. Trains were no longer running. Out of nowhere, a loud voice came from a speaker I didn't notice instructing me to step off the platform immediately. I guess it looked like I was setting off a bomb device or something? Super weird experience. Truly felt like a police state.

big brother watching us

Finished off the second week of my Jiu Jitsu club's six week challenge. My body aches and I have bruises all over my body. I'm mostly sure that I can do another 4 weeks, but this is not sustainable - especially not at my age. To make things worse - after last night's training after getting beaten up for the better part of an hour - I went to pick my daughter up from Taekwondo, she talks to the coach who then drags me into their end of training fitness thing they do. Everything started cramping up

Also - tonight my eldest daughter is off to a Scouts camp, then tomorrow night my youngest has a sleepover. This will be the first time in many years that my wife and I have had an evening without kids - we finally get a date night!

my wife's cousin and his wife are here today from Moose Jaw, Canada...they are taking us out for drinks and then dinner tonight...we have to go see Sturgill Simpson with them tomorrow night...

Rolled back home about 1am. Had the best night

Found a nice calm and shallow swimming spot and finally got the kid to swim in the ocean. She was having a blast trying to jump the waves and later did a few actual strokes around. A real breakthrough.

As if that wasn’t cool enough, a humpback whale breached several times only 50 meters or so out from where we were. We chased it around the rocks, then caught another mom and her calf splashing around not too far out either. Real core memory stuff, will get her back down there tomorrow for some more.

but also gotta stay away from the whales. they can all the sudden breach right under you. saw a video of a boat get capsized last season nearby bc they followed it too close and it came up right under them.

Yeah there were a few jet skis chasing them and getting pretty close. The coast guard zipped out there and got them to disperse a bit, I think.
