Honestly, they played this well from a business perspective - theatre revenue, DVD revenue, Blu Ray revenue, vinyl soundtrack revenue, CD soundtrack revenue, CD Bootleg revenue and digital Bootleg revenue. They're maximizing.

True, but they are flirting with alienating the audience with this new level of merchandising.

I would definitely buy Pearl Jam the flamethrower.

I would rather have more choices than less. I will pass on the soundtracks and just get the FLAC boots. With this fan base if they don't offer enough everyone goes off the deep end critizing them.

That was the only song that was guaranteed to be on there.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the track list - I Got A Feeling, Black Red Yellow (with Dennis Rodman right?), no Even Flow, no DTE, only 1 LB track (no MYM is a surprise).

The fanbase buys everything. There is little risk for the 10C. The unpopular items, like the expensive crates, sold out within a month. Even the unofficial items, like the Pink Pop skate deck and $200 Mickey Mouse tee shirt sell out instantly. Even the leftover scraps get sold in mystery sales. Pearl Jam anything would sell out at this point.

There was a time where I was really into concert dvds and I would have been super excited for this, but those days have passed. If I see it in a store I'll probably buy it for the hell of it, but it's not what it would have been for me in the past.

It's not bad, just doesn't do much for me outside of Last Exit, Black Red Yellow, and Go.

Is this a 10c exclusive thing? Or will the soundtrack be available in stores?

I'm a little torn on the live/album vs bootleg choice. I'm not sure if the live album captures those nights given the tracklist. But at the same time when do I have the time to listen to 2 three hour bootlegs? Bottom line is it's gonna be pretty hard to relive those experiences, they really were possibly my favorite concert experiences ever.

I'm also a big fan of Danny Clinch, his photography is so cool and I loved Immagine in Cornice. So glad he's part of the band's team. I'm not a Cubs fan, so it's a little weird for them to almost be the Cubs mascot, I would certainly be more comfortable if it were one of my teams. But, if you're a baseball fan I suppose anyone can appreciate what happened last year. I'm interested to see how Danny captured all of this, and I want to see if watching this takes me back to those 2 nights.

On a side note, the 2013 Wrigley show was also a truly one of a kind experience that can never ever be replicated by anyone anywhere given the circumstances. I hope there's something they saved on that whole evening. That was an experience unto itself.

Yeah, the whole baseball thing is not my thang...but i guess the reason im so exited its mainly because Clinch knows how to shot things really good...he will capture the whole evening in a very special way.

I think what he did with Alive on Immagine in Cornice was amazing, maybe my favorite things the band has ever put to video. I'm a baseball fan, so if they do this right, they can put it into context thematically. Baseball is part of American folklore, so I'm hoping they take sort of an artistic approach to explaining the allegiance.... Clinch proved w/ Immagine that he can take it up to another level, maybe even better than Cameron Crowe can in terms of not just making it a straight video of the concerts like Live at the Garden or Touring Band, but really a film with a theme and a story.

I think this will be more about Dd´s fandom than the band itself.
I would love something like this about the creative process within the band, but i know thats impossible and im ok with that.

Maybe one day we'll get a longer and more in depth version of Single Video Theory. I think they were really onto something there. PJ20 was a chronology about how they navigated their public life, but SVT was an inside look into band dynamics. It was their first real stab at home video but they could take the concept all the way in the future. Maybe for a future 40th anniversary thing.

band dynamics need to exist before band dynamics can be filmed

Oh yeah, thats why i love SVT so much...not only how its filmed but the overall talk about the creative process around that time for the band.
Still, this new movie looks awesome.
