Listened to the best of today heading to work. The stretch from Into You Arms to the end is just jaw dropping. Durd will surely lose his mind when he discovers each and every one of those gems.

Into Your Arms might be the most beautiful and honest song in history. I just cant listen to it again because of...memories.

Got me some tix to see him in January. Also listened to Nocturama. It's better than I remember it. Good times.

Listening to Henry's Dream for the first time. This album seems quite dense.

Yeah, I love "Henry's Dream."
Apparently Cave himself hates it.

Yeah, it wins the Cave award.
And it's fine that he considers it a disappointment. Van isn't big on Astral Weeks, so there's no accounting for taste.

He loves the songs but hates the production. Apparently the producer pressured him into a "live in the studio" approach that he wasn't comfortable with. Which is crazy, because that energy is essential to what makes the album so great.
I believe Cave was much happier with the remastered version released a few years back.

Wasn't David Briggs the producer?
Live Seeds, recorded on the Henry's Dream tour, is probably my favourite Cave album.

To see an artist and performer so thoroughly invested in the performance, with a set that was mainly drawn from their last two albums, with a band that is absolutely phenomenal, it restored a belief that I could enjoy shows again. The down moments (if that could be said) were classics like Ship Song or Red Right Hand or Into Your Arms, all performed beautifully btw just not as intense or as captivating as the newer material. His humour and stage craft was spot on too. It was all just perfect.
Add to all of that a prime position maybe fifteen feet from the stage. Plus a crowd that was in great mood and seemed grateful to even host/attend such an event.

Did The Necks support at your show? I imagine they would've been worth the price of admission alone, too bad they're not coming to Adelaide.

No they didn't support.
