It's all going in the right direction. Just a real pleasant team to watch right now. This is good.

so with pedroia as captain, we should expect shaved heads with leprechaun beards for the next 5-8 years (or something)?

in any trade(s) the sox make they have to keep their top prospects of: bogaerts, cecchini, bradley, webster, de la rosa, and swihart.

so with that in mind, my rankings of options* would be (with SP/RP/3B as the needs):

#1 option would be w/ MIL - Lohse, K-Rod, and A. Ramirez
#2 option would be w/ TOR - Buerhle, Janssen, and DeRosa
#3 option would be w/ CHI - Peavy, Lindstrom, and Keppinger
#4 option would be w/ MIN - Correia, Perkins, and Carroll
#5 option would be w/ FLA - Slowey, Cishek, and Polanco

*i list these players as options either b/c they're actually rumored to be available or b/c they're older and/or on a shitty team. and yes, i've purposefully left the cubs off this list.

I see no way that this team wins a World Series this year, despite the record, so if they want to sit tight at the deadline, I'm totally cool with it. Keep the top kids on the farm.

i mostly agree.

but this is my wish as well. even if you feel you can win this year, you don't give up any of the guys i listed... maybe even including barnes, owens, & renaudo... maybe.

Going into this season, I figured that they were a 70 to 80 win team, so if they win a playoff round or two, that's great. But let's no mortgage the future. I'm perfectly fine waiting a few years to build a solid, young core while other teams make big mistakes with trades, free agents.

Staying up until 11 AM to watch that walkoff win was pretty awesome.

Yeah, it's not uncommon for guys to go ape shit on stuff with their bats, but this was one of the more public displays of (dis)affection that I've ever seen.

Sometimes, you can see the ballplayer down the tunnel fucking shit up.

A win's a win, baby.

Ortiz is good for one of these meltdowns every year and a half or so. I loved the time he threw like 14 bats at the umpires like 6 years ago.

the shirt is great... if that's what you have a problem with. you have to remember many of these guys learned english as a 2nd language or didn't go/finish college. grammar is not their thing, peeps!

i'm very surprised tonight, b/c everybody is looking up at the sox with 63 wins... not that that's an accomplishment, i just think the shirt is great.
