Biggest question I have about this and Cassian is are they one season and done?
There’s plenty of room for the mando to play in over multiple seasons.
Cassian not so much.

I think they mentioned the Cassian show will take place a few years before R1. So there's plenty of room there, too.dimejinky99 wrote:Biggest question I have about this and Cassian is are they one season and done?

I'd bet it'll depend on how successful the respective shows are. If they're received well, we'll get multiple seasons. But it's a good question. We really don't know for sure what the plans are at this point. It'll be fascinating to watch this all play out.

ID say we’re gonna hear about more series being made. They’ll need a few different ones leap frogging each other in seasons, if they are getting multiple seasons.

Totally. I wouldn't be surprised to see Mandalorian and Cassian alternate for a year or two. Once they see how well those are received, then they'll announce more. I know everyone gives you shit about it all the time, but I wouldn't be surprised in Obi-Wan is actually the next one announced.dimejinky99 wrote:ID say we’re gonna hear about more series being made. Of course, it also wouldn't surprise me if Obi-Wan is the first streaming film that they order either.

Yeah I’m 50/50 about Obi wan. A film would be cool and make sense to restore some faith and excitement but a series would be cool too. Loads more room to work in

We should also remember that The Clone Wars will be a show (for one more season, granted) on Disney+, too. So they are launching the platform with 3 planned projects.

Yeah that too.
But even with that it all seems rather bare. To be launching a full streaming service you’d imagine they’d have a whole raft of new shows. Star Wars is the biggest draw here along with Marvel but the offerings there seem kinda small. Loki? Really??
Afaik they won’t be showing the movies and possibly cant show ANH due to the rights issue. It’s all really weird

But marvel also has about ten different shows already ongoing on Netflix. I'm assuming they'll be moving to Disney+ as well? And they'll all have new seasons

They’re being pretty hush-hush about it right now. There is one more season of Jessica Jones coming from Netflix.E.H. Ruddock wrote:But marvel also has about ten different shows already ongoing on Netflix. I'm assuming they'll be moving to Disney+ as well? And they'll all have new seasons

Daredevil has been cancelled. Which is really weird given it was hugely popular. So I’d say this is them grabbing their titles through the back door kinda for the streaming service.

Re: Star Wars : The Mandalorian (Disney+ 2020)
I think these would work well as one-offs, or limited series (1 or 2 seasons). I'm thinking the more seasons you go, the more plot lines get convoluted and characters are modified to fit certain stories.
If you look at it from a business perspective, you'd probably want more seasons to get your money's worth out of sets , props, etc.
