Every quote from Lindelof and co. that I've seen indicates that a season 2 isn't even in pre-production. if they were going to continue the story, I wouldn't expect it until 2021/2022.

When she and Reeves were in the theater I thought to myself, "the final shot better be her foot about to hit the water; smash cut to black."

So, it was a triumphant fist pump for me.

I think so, yeah. I'm absolutely certain. But I like that they don't actually, fully, show it.

I thought it would have been very much in the show’s nature to see her fall awkwardly into the water before they cut to black.

yeah, he said in the last interview I heard that he's got nothing for a season 2 but that doesn't mean another showrunner couldn't be brought in who could do something to screw it up.

OK maybe that last bit was my own interjection.

I'm of two minds. On the one hand, this was about as close to a perfect season of American TV as one could hope to get from a project like this. So, leave well enough alone. One and done. We're all winners.

On the other hand... there is so much fertile ground here. I have so many things I'd love to see explored. But I don't want another show runner. I want Damon and his thoughtfulness and his team and creativity. I think he can pull it off, too. Looking at what he did with The Leftovers, leaves me totally confident.

I think I ultimately land on let it be. But IF there's a second Lindelof lead season, I won't be mad about it.

Season 2 doesn’t have to be continue the same story. They didn’t even use nite owl and he would make a interesting season 2

I feel it was one of the weaker episodes, even if the season itself was awesome.

podcast I was listening to said have S2 be the trial of Adrian Veidt and have flashbacks with the OG characters to set the trial up.

Personally, I hope they don't do a season 2. Move on HBO.
