This is not super surprising to me based on the specs leaked or released so far.
The big question is, do they take the loss and release it at $400 and upcharge controllers, accessories, etc. OR do they release it at $450 or more with a free game or service or something?
I can’t imagine any way these next gen consoles start anything lower than $500.

Wasn't the PS3 $600 at launch? Why is $500 a big deal all these years later?

What was wrong with It? Sold out everywhere. People camped for subsequent shipments. It was certainly still in demand even at that price.

It suffered from sluggish sales until the price drop. It wasn't until years later that it caught up with the Xbox 360's sales.
More PS5 hardware details to be revealed tomorrow. I wonder if these console launches will be delayed or in very short supply come the Holidays.

I'll be tuned into the live stream tomorrow, 1200 ET. I really hope the release date isn't delayed, but almost seems inevitable at this point with all the supply chain concerns.

I bet they will show the system itself and announce a few first party games with trailers/gameplay. Price and services later.

With no E3, the new console announcements are really getting dragged out. I remember being able to preorder my Xbox right after E3 2013.
Now, we might not get pricing until July or August for supposed holiday releases.
