I think I was most disappointed in Kanye saying anything afterwards because if he just left it as walking on-stage to make us think "oh no, here comes kanye again" and then faking everybody out, its a pretty self-aware joke.

Exactly, but I think it's kind of weird that people are so upset by the comments. They're not even that out of line. Dave Grohl and Noel Gallagher and hundreds of other rock dudes make similar comments all the time, about music they feel strongly about. Why is everyone so up in arms about Kanye? I feel like I'm missing something.

i only caught about ten minutes of the broadcast, and it included kanye's performance followed quickly by madonna's far better performance. maybe he was just upset about being completely upstaged.

Well, nobody likes an egomaniac. Everyone hates Noel Gallagher as well. Dave Grohl gets a pass for being so likable I guess, which is an adjective I am pretty sure has never been used to describe Kanye.

Noel is a whole lot less relevant than Kanye. Also, wishing someone AIDs is cartoonishly awful, which makes it a lot easier to dismiss.

I don't think Kanye did himself any favors by marrying a Kardashian. Not exactly how you win over the public. But you gotta do what you gotta do for dat ass.

I don't know. I'm not saying that nobody hates kanye for racist reasons. I'm sure plenty of people do. I'm just saying that at least some of the criticism is warranted and he is definitely a douche.
