That China now has ICBMs?
You can quickly determine where an ICBM is going after launch. Hypersonic missiles can manuever to such a degree that you have no idea what the target is. This lowers the perceived cost of using these. How could we justify a massive nuclear strike if China launches just a few of these and we aren't sure where they are going?

Us and Russia could have made something like this in the 60s but determined that it would destabilize the arms race. MAD worked because either party would have enough time to launch a counter attack.

We had a related program that we cancelled for similar reasons despite technical feasibility. This was a nuclear powered cruise missile that could just orbit the pacific for months on end until we directed it to attack a target. Russia is currently trying to revive this concept.

China already has an insane stated policy that any conventional attack on China will be met with a nuclear strike, so...

(Also they recently expanded their ICBM force, and are getting closer to parity with US and Russia on number of missiles)

Perhaps they should try referring to the missile by it's correct pronouns.

It will supposedly take the US 20 years to build a nuclear sub for Australia. Poor Australia getting scammed.

Not a one-to-one comparison obviously, but we built our first one in 18 months.

I’d really like to think this is one of the most cleverly meta articles I’ve seen in a while, but it seems to be serious.

So all the crazy power outages were due to regulatory issues/ inefficient markets?

I hope this helps with supply chain issues.

Trade wars are easy to win:

Under Trump's trade deal, "China was to buy $274.5 billion in American goods and services. The actual number: $154.5 billion."
