A story that fits nowhere else:

I was at a coffee shop / art studio in a tiny town yesterday. After I got my coffee I was looking at some of the pottery on display, and a woman came up and introduced herself at the artist. I told here how much loved one of her mugs. I said I absolutely don't need more coffee mugs, but I wanted her to know how much I liked the design and color.

She told me that she felt that once a mug found its person, that it's wrong for anyone else to have it, and she proceeded to pull the $30 price tag off of it and give me the mug. I couldn't talk her out of it, and I could talk her into taking any amount of money.

So, here's something from the retirement home... I'm aware of 6-7. I saw all the discourse about it last year. I know it's a thing. I know I'm not supposed to understand it, blah, blah, blah. I'm cool with all of it.

But, I have no young people in my life. Can someone use 6-7 in a sentence? Like, what's a sentence in which the kids are/were using it? What context?

I logged into a virtual meeting from my kid's school. I wasn't sure if it was for my youngest kid, but it's obviously for just high school students.

There are 400 high schoolers on this cool who haven't the foggiest idea how to conduct themselves in a virtual meeting. It is absolutely hilarious.

I came in to one kid giving a long explanation about how his dad was making him get a haircut so he couldn't stay for the whole meeting. Every kid comes in unmuted and makes a comment. And there is an unending flow of emojis flowing over the screen despite multiple requests to stop. The teacher tried to mute all the kids and then muted the host.

Fucking awesome.

They’re probably all trying to ask why there’s a creepy middle aged guy in the meeting for no reason.

From what I gather, it’s more like a linguistic/numeralogical Where’s Waldo where you are just supposed to notice it and freak out juggling your hands. It’s not like the 69 we grew up with that had a tangible act associated with it.

It's not over for the younger kids. At kindergarten pickup the other day a kid had a balloon that he sharpied with "6-7". Every kid that he passed on his way out was triggered like little memester sleeper cell agents.

They've also added to the lore.

"6-7, 10-11, my name's kevin"

But that is probably a localized thing.

I went to a Husky basketball game.

About 2 months ago (December 2025) when the team scored 67 points, I would say a good 80% of the kids in attendance went nuts.

Now in February 2026 when it happened, maybe 10% of them, and even those ones were just kinda going through the motions.

Awhile back I was fully expecting to see a kid on every single little league team wearing 67 this spring, but now, I don’t see it happening.
