Mid credit

the CGI on Beast was awful especially because of the practical effect Kelsey Grammar we got years ago is my expectation

I liked it. Didn’t love it.

I thought the story was easy enough to follow and thought everything made sense as to why it was happening.

Miss marvel and her family (particularly her mom) stole the show.
Spoiler: show
Not sure how you can have Nick fury and skulls and not mention secret invasion (unless this takes place before).

Love the official introduction to the quantum bracelets though still think they belong to quasar.

Did they ever settle on a name for Monica? I was waiting for photon but don’t believe it was said

The mid credits. Shocked to see they went with binary. Like Chris said the cgi was below par for beast but I liked they went for a cross between xmen 97 and Jim lee

This was great.

Not great, maybe, but for post-Endgame MCU this qualifies as great. And so much way better than I had been led to believe by internet negativity and those "sound color and light" tweets.

The movie works. It has ambition, it has stakes, it's legitimately funny. One sequence in particular might actually be the funniest thing the MCU has yet done.
Spoiler: show
evacuating the spaceship with the help of the cats. The music, the announcer, the fear, the unexpectedness, it really worked for me
And it's not just about some mission or generically saving the world. It doesn't quite get to the moral ambiguity and complicated politics of something like Black Panther, but it goes after serious stuff. Simplistically, for sure, and not in a totally satisfactory way, but I'll acknowledge the effort.

It works emotionally and the three leads are all very compelling and have great chemistry.

Easily the best non-Spidey, non-Guardians, post-Endgame MCU joint, and a darn good time.

That cat scene fell completely flat for me.

But you hate cats so there was no hope for it to land with you.

The one in the house. The othes were so boring! There was one where the camera just stayed in place for like 15 seconds and you could see Iman Vellani waiting for her cue to move. I'd count this as one of the worst Marvel movies for action scenes

How much did Argo get paid for that review?

I am just pro-woman, even more than Joe who probably hasn't even seen this movie. I'm the new king feminist around here

Joe loves football, which might be the most misogynistic sports league

Argo likes boxing though. Many boxers are abusive towards women.

Burt is clearly the new feminist king.

But I feel bad about liking boxing and very rarely can actually bring myself to watch the real thing on TV. I just like to read about it, watchovies about it, and bet on it. And I feel bad about that last part, too

47 million debut at the box office, very poor. Not surprising as it seems Marvel wanted to shelve this one a long time ago.

I kinda feel bad for Brie Larson though.
