It is a love story between a man and a woman. You'd hate it.

Damn, I actually found this very disappointing. Very hokey, obvious and boring. I'm bummed because I was super looking forward to it. From all I'd read about it I was expecting something better in terms of writing and filmmaking. And that ending, fucking laaaaame. There are good things about it but overall it left me pretty deflated

Love this movie, in particular the B&W version (which comes to Netflix in August)

It felt like a classic old Godzilla movie done right, and the "found family" aspect of it really hit with me emotionally. Two things I didn't like so much:
Spoiler: show
The child actress who played the daughter was not a good crier at all. Also, while it was nice for the plot, how the hell did Noriko survive?

While I'm skeptical any modern Godzilla movie will be as good as Minus One, I'm still excited.

Me too but I hate the title. Minus Zero makes no sense.

I think it takes place prior to Minus One, from what I've read.

Then it should be called Godzilla Minus Two, or Godzilla 0 if we're counting upwards

Right. If you subtract nothing, you’re left with what you started with.
