Nice tour announcement. I hope to make it to one show.
Personally, I don't like a presale of that nature. I live 2+ hours from anywhere a major act would play. I think I'm going to see them in St. Paul.daft twat wrote:Did the box office only presale today. Got awesome seats. Man, they're not the best band ever, but they do everything right. Now it's a short 9 month wait.
Well, it got a lot of tickets at face value (no tm fees even) into the hands of fans. It is true that it works out better for urban folks (I live 10 minutes from the Xcel), but it didn't preclude others entirely. It was held on a Saturday. A woman a few spots behind me drove from Detroit Lakes (4 hours) last night just to buy tickets. She was thrilled to have the chance.CopperTom wrote:Personally, I don't like a presale of that nature. Also, they beat the bots, but got their ass kicked by old fashioned scalpers in some cities.daft twat wrote:Well, it got a lot of tickets at face value (no tm fees even) into the hands of fans. "The Minutemen bassist Mike Watt plays a pivotal role in Foo Fighters’ history. For Foos’ first official tour in 1995, they, along with Eddie Vedder’s side-project Hovercraft, opened up for Watt on his solo outing."
the strangest thing i thought was that the foo's have had other musicians contribute to songs in other cities, and in the city with the most/best musicians, they didnt do anything. thats my main gripe with the whole thing, though. the first episode made it seem like each city was influence the song that was being written there. we're really just getting lame new foo fighters songs in each episode.Fuzzcharger wrote:SO the New Orleans episode. I cringed at that part when Foo Fighters had this big jam thing with all the local musicians. That was the episode where the band seemed totally mismatched with the city. Probably the low point so far.
I would watch a doco about New Orleans music anytime too, and the local music segments were really cool but putting the FF into the mix just stuck out like a sore thumb.warehouse wrote:the strangest thing i thought was that the foo's have had other musicians contribute to songs in other cities, and in the city with the most/best musicians, they didnt do anything. thats my main gripe with the whole thing, though. the first episode made it seem like each city was influence the song that was being written there. we're really just getting lame new foo fighters songs in each episode.Fuzzcharger wrote:SO the New Orleans episode. i actually loved the new orleans episode, but i would watch a documentary about that city for hours. i loved the dr john stuff and the stories about trombone shorty when he was a kid were cool too. i find that whole city fascinating though.
i thought the LA episode was kinda weird. it started out in LA, then all of a sudden they are two hours away in the desert. i understand wanting to record at the rancho, but it seemed like they should have either done LA or palm desert, not both in one episode. the interviews were super cool though.

I'm serious! I've read a few interviews with Chris where I've thought he actually seems like a pretty likable dude, and totally gets how annoying Coldplay can be. Did you ever see him guest in Ricky Gervais' Extras? He was great.Rangi Guy wrote:That's just taking things a bit too far there buddy!ridleybradout wrote:I kind of feel the same about Chris Martin.Rangi Guy wrote:This pretty much sums up how I feel tooStrat wrote:Rangi Guy wrote:http://www.metalsucks.net/2014/11/25/ho ... -guy-ever/
