I've never been able to get through a full viewing of A Christmas Story. And I freakin' LOVE Christmas and Christmas-related pop culture.

A Christmas Story is fantastic. It's just overblown b/c TBS plays it for 24hrs on Christmas Day.

I find something about it very off-putting and depressing.

There is a little bit of depression there, for sure. Not overt or anything, but it's there. Maybe it's the heavy dosage of nostalgia.

I LOVE Elf. It's definitely one of my favorites of the newish Christmas movies.

Have y'all seen Fred Clause? It's moderately enjoyable.

What's the Christmas movie where Robert Duvall says something like "I don't want to speak ill of your mother but she's a common street whore". We quote that like 20 times a year in casa de bada. That's the only part of the movie I remember.

I watched this the other day and it was fucking crazy. It's amazing Ben Affleck still has a career.

There isn't a move I quote more on a weekly basis than NL Christmas Vacation.
It has the highest re-watchability of just about any comedy ever made... holiday or otherwise.

This week alone I probably rang off these gems at least once....
"Shitter's full" (just about any time you leave the bathroom)
"Joy to the world" (sung in a stupid Clark Griswold as I connected the xmas lights on the mantle)
"This is a fine piece of furniture / you mind if I ask how much it set you back?" (using a slow southern accent just about anytime my gf gets anything new from the store)
"And if it wouldn't be too much, I'd like to get something for you Clark. Something really nice." (You can use that "something really nice" for just about anything)

Other gems...
"he's got a lip fungus thing that ain't identified yet.."
"that's the gift that keeps on giving throughout the entire year."

So basically I run around spewing stupid comments in a southern redneck accent all day long. I must be really annoying to live with.
