Man, that would take me out too. Reminds me of the time I saw Todd Snider. The friend I was with knew all the words to the "improv" bits of intro banter for a few of the songs. Crowd energy is a wonderful thing, but too much crowd participation starts to feel like you're part of a zealous congregation. I can only imagine what that's like during a song like PTG.

Shellac regularly does a Q&A session (or two) during their set. At the show I was at, one guy dressed in black denim, a black t-shirt, and black eyeglass yelled to Bob "Is your Traynor TS-50B 50w solid-state amp modified with a point-to-point wiring system?!"

Bob yelled "No!" then pointed his finger for the next question. I was so embarrassed to be in that room but the set wasn't even halfway over yet.

This feels like it could be a Simpsons bit.

A couple months ago, Steve was on a podcast and said the new album was being mastered, but that pressing plants were backed up so there was no clear timeline for release. Today Shellac posted that they’re working on cover art. Slowly but surely, it is happening…

I hope that at least a couple RMers will digest their new album with me. I had one diehard Shellac fan in my circle of friends but that person is dead now. Hoping to experience this with others, for better or worse.

Look, my sphere of influence in this world is 30” tall and doesn’t even know how to tie her own shoelaces yet. My view is that people’s need to project their sense of justice onto a couple celebrities they’ll never meet is a bigger symptom of our collective sickness than whatever happened at the Oscars last night. It made for entertaining clickbait while I was brushing my teeth I guess.
