I got it for $40 a few weeks ago on Amazon. Oh well.

If it was under a month ago, I say just email customer service and see if they'll adjust your price. It's worth a shot.

Turns out it’s still hip to plunk down a needle and listen to new music the old-fashioned way. For five consecutive years, vinyl-loving listeners have ratcheted up sales to keep this small but dedicated market alive and thriving.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, 2012 was another record-breaking year as vinyl album sales rose 17.7 percent from the previous year.
The top 10 vinyl albums of 2012 read like a playlist on 89.3 the Current (think: Mumford & Sons, Black Keys and Bon Iver). Jack White’s “Blunderbuss” topped the chart. But the band sitting in the No. 2 spot might come as a surprise.
Here are the biggest takeaways from the Nielsen Company & Billboard’s 2012 Music Industry Report:
• In 2012, vinyl album sales hit 4.6 million, smashing the previous record of 3.9 million in 2011.
• That total was higher than in any other year in the history of Nielsen SoundScan (dating to 1991).
• But vinyl only accounted for 2.3 percent of all physical album sales. CD album sales hit 193 million.
• Independent music stores dominated sales, handling 67 percent of all vinyl purchases.
• Following White’s “Blunderbuss,” the No. 2 position belonged to the Beatles. The legendary band’s reissued “Abbey Road” from 1969 sold 30,000 copies, proving the British invasion is still hot the second time around. □

Monster and New Adventures have been on my wantlist for years but I've never been able to pull the trigger.

as low an opinion of them i have, i do wish i had pulled the trigger on getting reveal and around the sun lps years ago. i could have had reveal for less than 10 bucks (and it sat there a long while) and around the sun for not much more. they're now the only r.e.m. albums i don't have on vinyl.
i got lucky with new adventures and up, finding them at a local shop for good prices in the early 00's. could use a different copy of automatic, though, as i got the pressing from a few years ago that has strange warble on nightswimming.

Especially on such a piano-heavy song like Nightswimming. If it had been an up-tempo rocker it may have been ok.
On top of this AFTP fuck-up, I also have a copy of Accelerate where both LPs are disc 1 (sides a/b).
I have bad REM-vinyl luck. Although everything from Murmur-to-Out of Time in my collection is just fine.

if you're looking to replace accelerate on the cheap, amazon is selling the lp for 12.99 (and a seller has a new sealed copy for 7.49 if you don't mind corner dings).

I was at the record store today and was looking at the 10'' plastic sleeves. The guy asked if I wanted some, and I said I wasn't sure, I don't really have have that many 10'' records. He said most people only have 6, and we laughed about it, so I bought 6 of them. I got home and counted...I have six 10'' records. Eerie.
