Then again I thought the same thing about Alphonso Smith
That last line was really painful to read, friend. :(

Tamba is my favorite Chief since TG. I adore the guy. But it almost doesn't make financial sense to keep him after this season. I've been preparing all year for a bitter goodbye.
Schefter also has a disappointing tweet on that front...

People are funny. Two polls on ESPN website tonight.

First one "Did the Cowboys make the right move passing on Manziel?"
America says 70% yes.

Second one "Who will have the best NFL career - Bortles, Manziel, or Bridgewater?"
America says 35% Manziel.

So to recap - good move passing on Manziel at #16 but he's going to be better than the guy at #3.

He was really good two years ago, seemed to take last year off as he knew he was NFL bound which was frustrating. Not the best corner in the draft but I like him a lot.

And the SEC in general, plus Rutgers.

Supposedly they took Easley because they felt that Seattle would have taken him late in Round 1. I like the pick. Roll the dice. You can afford to do that. Two blown ACLs means he goes from a Top 15 pick to a late Round 1. Could work out quite nicely. We all know the Pats can't rush the passer.

Speaking of which, so odd to see those defense stats last night...Pats last in the league in almost every important defense stat, EXCEPT points allowed, where they were ranked No. 1. #benddontbreak

Not sure I agree with you. You're assuming that everyone polled thinks the Cowboys wanted, needed, or should've drafted a quarterback (particularly in the first round).

Ironically the Jets used Tupa at QB vs. the Pats on opening day 1999. The Jets were coming off a loss in the AFC championship, it was Parcells third year and the Jets were legit Superbowl contenders. Vinny T ended up blowing out his Achilles in the second quarter, I never seen the atmosphere change so quickly at a sporting event. You could a hear a pin drop after he got hurt.

Anyway I don't remember exactly what the deal was but for some reason the Jets had to play Tupa at QB to finish out the half. It was something to do with that funky third QB rule they used to have. I think it was if they didn't use Tupa at QB then he wouldn't have been allowed to play at all even at punter.

To clarify, the other two QB's got 32% and 33% of the vote. So it was close but Manziel got the most votes.

And to your point - Romo sucks.

Oh man, it would have been something to have had Bammer around when we had that Romo debate earlier.

But to the point of the draft, it would have been ridiculous for the Cowboys to take a QB high. Romo's contract is designed in a way that they're stuck with him for at least the next two years.

Great, now who's Hoyer/Manziel going to lock in on before throwing all those picks?
