They should release the Jeff demo of "Other Side". The one he said sounded "creepy".
I don't know if it's the original demo, but they did give away a CD at PJ20 containing a version of Other Side with Jeff on vocals. I wouldn't say it sounds creepy, though.theplatypus wrote:They should release the Jeff demo of "Other Side". The one he said sounded "creepy".
its out there...he released it a few years ago, with the first song from his last solo album.theplatypus wrote:They should release the Jeff demo of "Other Side". The one he said sounded "creepy".
i didn't know that existedBirds in Hell wrote:I don't know if it's the original demo, but they did give away a CD at PJ20 containing a version of Other Side with Jeff on vocals. It made me realise both that I like all of the songs from the record a whole lot more than I often realise (not that I ever thought they were bad, mind you) and how much I don't really care for the flow of the official tracklisting.
It hasn't been an easy task, I'm currently on my fourth (and hopefully final) revision. Once I've given this one a few spins I'll decide whether it's as good as I think it can be or if it needs some further alteration.
Such a great, creative session for the band; directionless in the most pleasant way.
Wow. When you add in the B-Sides, it makes the album much more full (and not in a numbers way!). Very cool. Thanks for posting. Kind of rekindled my desire to go back and listen to Riot Act. At one time, it was my least favorite PJ album and over numerous revisits has moved into the upper half!Birds in Hell wrote:1. 2. Love Boat Captain
3. Half Full
4. Save You
5. Cropduster
6. Down
7. Ghost
8. I Am Mine
9. Thumbing My Way
10. Green Disease
11. Can't Keep
12. Help Help
13. Get Right
14. Other Side
15. You Are
16. Undone
17. Bushleaguer
18. All or None
Much better.
If you want to try this at home, I strongly recommend using the original b-side versions of Down, Undone and Other Side. I can't recall all of the differences but Down certainly has some new guitar work and the original mixes fit more comfortably with the sonic character of the other Riot Act material.

Nope, it was released as a b-side to I Am Mine internationally (Australia, UK, Europe).bluestate wrote:Where is there a b-side version of Undone? That wasn't released until LD.
The original version is more stripped down. A lot more flourishes in the ld versionBirds in Hell wrote:Nope, it was released as a b-side to I Am Mine internationally (Australia, UK, Europe).bluestate wrote:Where is there a b-side version of Undone? That wasn't released until LD.
There's clear differences between the original version and the later remix on Lost Dogs.
Interesting, will try this. I have not listened to RA in a long time. Striking to see Cant Keep buried in the middle. I assume those b-side versions are on gremmie?Birds in Hell wrote:1. Some nice transitions in here. I like other side to you are to undone in particularBirds in Hell wrote:1. That's one of my favourite runs too.stip wrote:Some nice transitions in here. I like other side to you are to undone in particular
Woah! I never knew this existed. My version of I Am Mine obviously has Down. I had no idea there was another version of Undone. One of my favorite songs from LD so I'll have to track this down.Angus wrote:bluestate wrote:Where is there a b-side version of Undone? That wasn't released until LD.
If they had gone in a different direction with the spoken word segments this could have been a top 25 song.bada wrote:Gonna try this mix. Of course it means I'll have to listen to Bushleaguer but I guess I can bite the bullet.
