I don't agree with the rest though. I just simply don't compare The Wire to anything else, so I still enjoy a lot of other TV shows.

Been watching this through lately, season 2 is so fucking good.

Except for Ziggy. Who I'd like to shoot in the face.

I would argue that if you don't like Ziggy, then you really don't get this show.

ziggy is not even comparable to ANY OTHER CHARACTER IN TELEVISION HISTORY

Ziggy works because you can feel incredibly sad for him without him being a sympathetic character, if that makes any sense. I.e., whenever he makes a mistake I want to say out loud: "Oh, come on Ziggy, don't do it..." but when he does it you just throw your arms up in the air instead of wringing them and worrying about him. He's just a kid, but he's not a kid in the sense of Season 4's kids being kids, if ya know what I mean.

First time through i felt like Ziggy didnt fit in the world created. Second time through I realized thats the whole point.

Oh I got Ziggy. I AM Ziggy. That's probably why I hate him.

Whenever I watch s2 I always get sad during the last couple episodes, knowing it's about to end. It's not just for the port stuff either, I love the Stringer branching out on his own angle as well.
