I have no idea what should or shouldn't be award worthy, but i thought all the main characters did great, and i loved the movie. It may not have been ground breaking but it was good

i haven't even seen it. that's just my general opinion

Watched Goon Monday night. Decent if cliched sports movie. Nothing I haven't seen before but Sean William Scott did a pretty good job in a different role for him. The big fight scene at the end was fairly brutal with a surprisingly bloody bit earlier in the flick.

A plethora of potentially good movies on TCM in Feb. for their 31 Days of Oscar. Classic nominated movies I haven't seen before. I hope to catch most of them.

They Live is so fucking great.

Watched 'Demoted' and 'This Means War'. The former was my pick, the latter the Mrs.'s pick. Both kinda sucked.

Saw The Words last night.

Kept me hooked the whole time.
Good flick...enjoyable for both the boyfriend or girlfriend.

I don't know if I'll have time to watch them all tonight, but a Lee Marvin marathon on TCM:

Cat Ballou (1965)

Monte Walsh (1970)

Point Blank (1967)

Point Blank is my favorite Lee Marvin movie, and that's really saying something. He made another great one with the same director and Toshiro Mifune called Hell in the Pacific. Lee Marvin as an American GI and Mifune as a Japanese soldier during WWII, both stranded on an empty island. They beat hell out of each other for a while and stage their own mini-war. It's really something.

Loved, loved Point Blank. In all practicality, Walker (Lee Marvin) died in Alcatraz at the beginning. And like a ghost he is restless, until he gets the $93,000 in which he feels he's owed. And around and around he goes forever. I wouldn't be surprised if Nolan was inspired by this before he made Memento

Frenemies. Disney Channel movie my daughter wanted to watch. I really wanted to hop in my car and drive into a tree, but instead I drank a bottle of wine.

Speaking of great shots and nothing happening, I think horror movies today should take a page from this movie.

The shot after they rob the poker game, the camera tracks him out of the building and into the alley. Your expectations are that someone is going to come after him, shoot him, or whatever, but nothing ever happens. But for that long 30 secs you're tense in your seat and waiting for some violent interaction . I think horror movies should play with conventions, subvert expectations.

Anyway, not that big a fan of the movie, but I agree there were some great shots.

yeah, good point. Im a big horror movie fan and i think there are some cool directors taking notice of what you are saying...Ti West being the best of the bunch. There are a lot of those moments you describe in The Inkeepers.

So is Inkeepers good? I was interested for awhile. There hasn't been a respectful ghost story since The Sixth Sense or Stir of Echoes. Inkeepers looked like it had potential.

is good..is not like those movies, like i said it has its own pace and its own way of going into the whole ghost story theme.
Even if you dont like the movie, its different. Thats why i love Ti West´s movies.
