I remember a few Pats fans posting on the old board during that 18-1 season that talked the Pats up so much that they never showed their faces around RM again. I think Ozymandius was one of them, but there was another Pats fan that disappeared either forever or a little while.

Heh, Cary Williams, the guy who called the Pats cheaters over and over, just pick sixed Brady--though the INT wasn't Brady's fault.

Glad I could follow through.
Meanwhile, good god, all these flags are making the preseason unbearable. This better just be temporary.

One more tidbit. Seahawks fans ... Many of them anyway ... Call themselves "Twelves"
Local radio and tv guys open broadcasts with "Hello Twelves and welcome to the game..."
I will never refer to myself as a Twelve. Promise.

Nothing new here but preseason pregame broadcasts have a unique feel to them. Not a word about the opponent. It's all about what to watch regarding position battles for your own team.

Irked me the first time I ever heard it and I have grown to hate it more over time.
I think I just have a problem with the number 12 in general because, you know, Tom Brady.

Don't worry Bammer, Texas A&M will always hold the title for for most obnoxious usage of 12th man, and it's not even close.
They even sued the Seahawks over its usage, and I remember when
they also threatened the Broncos when they had a little 12 flag on a skydiver in the playoffs a few seasons ago.
Meanwhile, I like that the Seahawks are handling the Chargers so far.

That they did (sue over 12th Man) and while I don't know the exact dollar figures Seattle got away with murder in the deal. A&M could be charging so much more and it would be worth it to Seattle...milking the shit out of it up here.

Year-long shock that your favorite team, which failed to do so for so many years, finally won a SB. The dynasty fantasy talk starts when your team is on the verge again.

The way you describe it, that actually doesn't sound like a big deal. Until someone beats them or the entire roster is stripped I think there is sufficient reason to expect to win again.
I thought you'd be going more the obnoxious fan route. Something along those lines. Or fans starting fights with fans of other teams. I dunno, but the Pats did arguably have a dynasty going there and therefore you can't really blame their fans for believing in it.
PS - I hate Tom Brady.
