i think the best dramas have a lot of good subtle comedy worked in these days. but yeah, there's very little good shows that go under the comedy label. i only watch Louie, Maron, Silicon Valley and Veep. they all just wrapped upspike wrote:not a lot of great comedies

Mad Men is still as good as (better than?) ever, I don't know what the detractors are talking about.

True Detective was something special.
Halt and Catch Fire is pretty tremendous so far, IMO.
And there are a shit ton of shows that are worth watching-Sons of Anarchy (last season should have been 60 min not 90 min episodes), Wilfred, Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, Justified, The Americans, Silicon Valley, on and on.
