I never actually listened to that but I believe it was broadcast with the rest of the show.

I can only surmise that either: a. Ten Club's current explanation is bullshit or b. the earlier broadcast was of a direct soundboard tape whereas this release has been newly-mixed from the multitrack (which didn't catch Dead Man).
I was leaning towards B. When B happens, I really wish they'd just include the single track soundboard recording but be up front about why it sounds different.

Yeah, that seems like the obvious solution to me, but I guess in that case I should start my own band and my own fanclub, etc.

guys, all i know is that when i used to transfer my mix tapes that i recorded off the radio to compact disc, if one of the songs had a DJ talking over the end, i fucking kept it on there... i wanted songs with all the warts.

How is it possible that all of the shows starting in 2000 were completely recorded by two machines, except for this one show? Smells like bullshit to me.

Wasn't there a show where they didn't have a multi-track recording of a song or two but still included the soundboard single track anyway?

Tampa 2000 - tape machine took a shit during Last Exit.
And they didn't even insert the song back into the normal setlist. They stuck it at the end of disc two like it would be some huge distraction or something.

Hey, even that's better than not including it at all.

I just compared the broadcast version to the audience recording and Dead Man on the broadcast version is indeed incomplete. It's there until the "hallways are all mocking me" and then his vocals cut out.

Well, in that case, I kind of understand (giving them the benefit of the doubt that they don't have a board tape of that show stashed away somewhere).
You'd think it would cause them less grief to make it clear upfront that a song is missing, however.

Exactly. Instead they've now got a '*Track listing may vary from original set list' disclaimer on every setlist page

Same thing happened to the first 5 songs of E. Rutherford II in 2006 (GREAT show btw) - except that time they put it on a completely separate disc. A while back I edited it so the cut into Animal transitions smoothly out of the mixing console version. Happy to upload if there's any interest in it...

They should have kept the part of Dead Man they had, then when it went out, splice it with a modern day version of PJ performing it live in studio
Just for shits and giggles

The audience recording is killer, so hopefully some kind soul here will workout a patch.
Would love to see them release a show that is uncirculated someday. Novel though, I know.

Push Me Pull Me from Constitution Hall was incomplete but they used what they had.

I want the next vault release to be advertised as Solider Field, but in reality be 2015 Pearl Jam playing the exact same setlist (with Ed recreating all of the in between song banter) live in their home studio with crowd noise from The Who Live at Leeds dubbed in. And I want Boom to be front and center in the mix.

Just face it, there are few complete recorded shows sitting in the vault.

it really is strange, considering this band is known for their live show, and has released hundreds of live complete bootlegs
