We're good buddy. No worries.

Hmm, that's a tough one. Maybe "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun." Or something off
Animals (every song on that album is great).

I am nowhere near as well-read as I'd like to be, so I'm not sure what my proper top 5 would look like. But I can tell you that
American Psycho is my #1. Camus's
The Stranger (this was a really formative reading experience for me) is also up there, and
Lolita is in the running. I also really like Nabokov's
Invitation to a Beheading.

I think I'm going to read The Stranger later this month. I have a brand new copy on the shelf at home and I just can't wait to get at 'er.

Oh, Bukowski's Pulp is also great. So deep and powerful in such an unpretentious way.

I like Mars Attacks. Haven't seen MDS since theaters. Haven't seen the others.

This will seem ironic perhaps after everything else that unfolded earlier today. Needless to say, I wouldn't have posted this had it come after other discussions. But initially I posted that because he was a raging misogynist and Grand Canyon sized asshole.

Oh man, my wife would fucking unload on you for an hour for saying that, haha. She worships him and hates when people call him a misogynist.

Does your wife know much about the man? I mean, I watched him scream at a woman, call her an idiot and then hit her during an interview.

"Know much" is an understatement. I'm pretty sure she owns every book, has seen every interview, owns every DVD, has basically read/heard/seen everything there is to consume related to Bukowski.
Personally, I don't consider him a misogynist or an asshole. I've seen the interview you're talking about. He was drunk off his ass and acting stupid. Alcohol has a tendency to make people act like jerks.

Whoa.
Alright, I'm gonna bow out here.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. And he was definitely being an asshole in that scenario. I'm not condoning the way he acted. My thoughts are probably being influenced by hearing my wife's extended diatribes on why he's not a misogynist asshole, haha. She makes a pretty persuasive case.
