I tend to do collections for the bands I truly enjoy, plus it tends to complete a discog so I'll certainly share when it's done.

EDIT: This will take far longer than tonight...
My 5-year old will love you. He's already asking how long before June when new songs are released. He's addicted to this band.
The titles don't get logged in the memory as quickly seeing as they aren't English but it should be a fun little project.

He's boycotting all things Pearl Jam until they come out with a new album.

Only five and he's teaching us good habits already.

back from the show - blown away. i knew i was in for something but jesus christ, this is something else

i don't know if it's the best show i've ever seen yet because i'm still high on it but if it isn't, i can't remember anything else that tops it right now.

Nothing has topped the 2 Sigur Ros shows I have been to. Does Sigur Ros have their live show mixed in surround? Might be a silly question but I swore when I saw them at the Ryman in 2006 I was told that they do.

I found a way to take my kid, who is normally in bed by 8:30. Meanwhile, we're both on antibiotics with strep throat. You can go.

Edit: this makes me sound like a horribly reckless father.

Vaka is such a beautiful song i really cant listen to the whole record. Its like they have acomplished everything in one song. Really Powerful.

I actually queued up the album at work today, not the best setting for solid listening but when I get to my desk and hear it things tend to slow a bit.

The show last night was pretty good; not their best, but pretty good (although I'm unfairly comparing it to the previous shows I've seen at much smaller venues). The venue is probably the worst in Chicago for a large-scale show. The sound is all over the place. Plus, it was a Tuesday night, which always makes it hard to get up for a show.

On the bright side, they were pretty tight, and the absence of Kjartan wasn't as noticeable as I thought it would be.

Some standouts were:

Varúò (song of the night for me)
Festival (they sounded amazing)
Track 8 (Pop song) (of course)

The muffled sound of the cavernous arena complelely buried Kveikur and Brennisteinn. I was pretty disappointed with that.

My kid was incredibly excited, but I think he wore down toward the end. All in all, I'm glad I took him.
