I don't think it's gonna make it to the favorites list, but still a pretty solid 7/10.

My Octopus Teacher and Man on a Wire are two of my favorites but I’m skeptical of both.

No surprise here because I totally fall under the captive audience category for this.
Still, what a a great documentary. Even for fans who've seen previous Billy Joel docs (The Last play At Shea remains my favorite) this one is extensive and updated, really well made. Also, it's an honest look into his life, influences, and songwriting without skipping over flaws and questionable choices.

I'd grade this higher if I knew less about Billy going in. 8.5/10.

the new Led Zeppelin doc is almost as good as Led Zep themselves

Nothing more than the story making more sense to me if they were allowed up. Thinking about a great publicity stunt to increase favorability for the buildings that were reportedly disliked at the time by many New Yorkers.

Robodoc was pretty great. Peter Weller living his best life.

Halfway through Billy Joel: And So It Goes, which is terrific so far. Comparable to History of the Eagles, I would say (which is, of course, one of the great rockumentaries). A really pleasant surprise after seeing the dreadful Becoming Led Zeppelin.

I would agree. But both pale in comparison to the Tom Petty and Bee Gee docs.
