No Excuses is great. I'm not sure why I Stay Away was a single on an album with Rotten Apples, Nutshell, and Don't Follow

Heard Voices on the radio yesterday and didn't have any urge to change the station. I may even download it. Even this new band can scratch my dirge itch once on awhile.

Those going to see them live soon are in for a treat, they really do put on a great show and Duvall does a great job with the older (IMO better) material. Devil Put Dinosaurs Here was mostly a disappointment to me this year. Not bad per say, just pretty boring. Couple of nice jams on there though.

I love this comeback...they seem to be a great live band, Duvall has a great voice and most of their new material is pretty awesome.

Still, their last album ...its boring yeah..Jerry Cantrell boring. Most of the songs need some editing, the production is horrible, the voices sound the same...yeah, it was disappointing.

BGWTB rules though.

Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the new album. I'd definitely see them if circumstances permitted.

Rotten Apples is my fav song on the disc, but it's not really radio friendly. Nutshell is a fantastic song, but not really a single.

I Stay Away is a better song than Don't Follow. REally cool dynamics and song composition in I stay away.

i guess I wasn't thinking about the radio play part. Don't Follow is my favorite AiC song so I'll disagree with you there.

Really? Interesting. I think the 1st 4 songs are all better than it, plus they have all their other albums and Sap.

Why is it your favorite?

Actually I see Don't Follow was released as a single:

Most of the tracks on that EP were singles.

At this point, my love of AiC only comes from Jar and Sap (plus a couple songs here and there). So the new AiC doesn't offer me anything.

Same here. Of the earlier stuff I just think that some of the lyrics are a bit too... I want to write 'histrionic' but I dunno. OTT? I know that's rich coming from a PJ fan but hey.

That said, I still think Rooster is one of my favourite songs ever :)

Listened to the Unplugged today. Really strong performance from the band, specially Layne who was already fucked up at the time.

Would, Got me wrong, Over now, Rooster, Heaven beside you...great versions.

Could be my favorite Unplugged show. Down In A Hole was also a standout to me and I much prefer that version of Brother with Layne backing Jerry over the studio cut.

Voices sounds more like Cantrell solo than AiC

The last album feels like a Jerry record, specially because of the production, which i hate.
Love Voices, though...its one of the strongest tracks on the record....also, Phantom Limb is badass.
