the guy who quit playing football cause he was going to get banned for a year and wanted to smoke more than play and had his own mental problems really isnt a good judge here

Ricky is a pretty intelligent and thoughtful guy. I'm still rolling with him on this.

So the players (black and white) seem to be pretty solidly on Incognito's side in all of this. And it's also being reported that the coaches told Incognito to toughen Martin up this past offseason.

Philbin doesn't survive this. I just hope Ireland goes with him.

I know it sounds callous, but Martin comes off like such a baby in this thing.

He makes his living playing an extremely violent sport, he's not a 13 year old girl. I find it amazing tht incognito was this much of an asshole to everyone and no one beat his ass at some point.

he was in a no win situation

if he attacks him then he will be labeled a cancer. what if he injures richie? then his team is going to fine/suspend him
he doesnt attack him and says nothing he is labeled a quitter or doesnt have the heart to play
he does what he does and well....

tying guys to goal posts, picking up donuts, carrying pads...i think those are all ok. incognito wasnt "hazing" people or making them pay their dues. he and others (who should be held accountable) were using rookies and other players to pay ungodly amounts of cash for things out of their own pocket so richie and the gang didnt have to.

it seems everyone has a different way that they would react to this very scenario and none are wrong

some people can turn it off and on when they need to, so he needs to be violent on the field, the rest of the time its not right. but im just speculating. i do think someone should have beat incognitos ass, the dude was labeled the dirtiest player in the nfl recently, and was kicked off another team for being an asshole, so he is what everyone is saying he is, but im afraid what they were talking about this morning on espn radio is true and that he was put up to it by someone else on the team, maybe even on the coaching staff to "toughen up" martin, and that would be why no one beat his ass

Yep. Its a combo of a "code red" situation, Incognito crossing way over the line in "toughening" him up, and Martin not comfortable confronting this issue with those in power (the team leaders, coaches).

Coaches will be fired, Incognito won't play for the Dolphins again and will at least be suspended from the NFL for the rest of the season.

Martin will file an EEOC suit against the team & NFL. He'll settle out of court and never play in the NFL again.

you dont think Martin will play again? that would be a shame, but i can see him not being able to be a dolphin again, but possibly he could catch on with another team.....if he wants to that is

if he does get a settlement from this whole thing he may never need to play again

I don't know if Incognito is racist, I know he's in asshole, a dirty player, but he probably is a leader of the team, which is why the players have his back. Being in the NFL takes a different kind of mentality, it's clear the coaches didn't think he had it, and at the end of the day, that's where it starts.

the more i read and hear about this, im not sure what to think.. its like martin being a huge vagina is outweighing incognito being a huge asshole.. but still, im not a big fan of either

i was watching an interview with tannehill before.. and the guy asked if hed welcome them back.. there was this long awkward pause.. n he was like i guess, im a forgiving guy.. i think the pause spoke volumes.. if he really would feel comfortable with them back hed be like oh yea i can forgive em instantly.. its like he thought about, how can i put this nicely....

as for the racism.. after this and riley cooper, im wondering how frequently the n word flies around in these locker rooms and during casual speak w these guys.. by blacks and whites.. (originally i defended cooper.. saying playing with vick, mccoy, desean, v young, etc.. he mustve heard it 1000 x through the course of a practice and in the locker room, when these guys addressed n bullshitted with each other.. of course its gonna be natural comin outta his mouth).. theyre prob all callin each other nigs, crackers, fags, etc shittin around.. not that its right, its just the way it is.. i forget which player i was listenin to on an interview that was like, you couldnt put a recorder in a locker room, the public would be outraged by half the shit said....

i guess the big question is where do they go from here

i mean martin grew up rich, ended up going to stanford n probably never dealt with crazy nutjobs like incognito.. i can see how this kinda came as a shock

but then again everyone on the team seems to be siding with incognito.. something is kinda wierd to me about all of this.. somethin just dont add up....

the fact that martin comes from a family of harvard lawyers, and i dont trust lawyers....
