I didn't think it was that amazing. A very good popcorn movie, but not the best superhero movie ever.
Definitely a great superhero movie, and a very entertaining action movie. They pulled off something no one had ever attempted before, and they did it with humor, wit and self-awareness, filled to the brim with geek-out moments. Even my snobby film friends like that flick.
Honestly, all the action was so over-the-top and constant that I lost all connection to the story and characters.
I think the final battle was a little excessive.

Has anyone seen the trailer to that Marvel TV show SHIELD? It looks TERRIBLE.

those words have never been said about michael shannon before, I believe.
You didn't see Premium Rush, did you?

I'll never understand the rational that because someone has had enough of something it should stop. That band should stop making albums I'm over it. I'm not. They should stop making that type of movie enough is enough. I want more. Go do something else if you are over it.

Assuming they are gonna do a mutant of the week formula but are unable to call them mutants how are they gonna explain how people have powers. Not everyone can be doused in radioactive waste while being struck by lightening.

I was just asking the question, really. Wondering out loud when people would have enough of this kind of movie. I'm personally sick of it, but if others want it, that's fine with me. I'm not saying they shouldn't be made. There are plenty of other movies being made that I'll enjoy.

That wasn't directed at you or anyone specifically just the general idea that when I'm over something it should stop.

I'd love to see more Sci-Fi films like Moon and Children of Men. Less After Earth and John Carter.
Movies like Moon and Children of Men are always welcome, but I was hoping for a shift in big blockbusters to something beyond the comic book superhero thing, and scifi seemed like a setting that was primed to explode (until the scientologists got a hold of it). After The Avengers and TDKR, I feel like the comic book thing has peaked for now.

I'd love a new giant space adventure not called Star Wars, but I think its been decided that no one wants to see a movie that doesnt take place on Earth (star Wars excluded), and I think that sucks.

Isn't Nolan doing a space movie?

Only because of a slew of terrible space movies.

actually I didn't think John Carter was nearly as bad as it was made out to be. Disney was so terrified of putting mars in the title that they scuttled their own movie before it had a chance.

"John Carter" was a disappointment of epic proportions for me. "Wall-E" is one of my favorite movies and I though Andrew Stanton could bring "John Carter" to life.

That movie is more than a year old, now. I'm glad you're still scratching at that irritant.

Stumbled across this to do with the failed Superman Lives movie. It's quite long, but worth it
