I hope I look that happy when I know I'm about to die.

Not only does he not look sick, he doesn't even look his age.

Working my way through some catalog highlights today.

Started with Blackstar. Then put on The Next Day (which I'd never heard before; kept putting off a listen).

Then I did The Man Who Sold..., Hunky Dory and Earthling. Spinning Ziggy now.

Christ.

Played Ziggy on the way to work this morning. :peace:

Tis a Pity She Was a Whore is one of the best tracks I've heard in months. I haven't had time to really digest the rest.
That was his Record Store Day single on Black Friday in '14. I managed to pick one up (the last one) at a record store in Brooklyn and I've been obsessed with that song since. First time I heard it I thought, "man if this is where he's at, I hope we get another record, but if this is the last "new" Bowie song I ever hear... worth it."
It is a seriously heavy record. I played Lazarus probably seven times last night. I'd love to hear more about the recording sessions that lead to its formation.

This is my favorite Bowie tune. That 'Oh no Love you're not alone' part....

Bowie even defied the phrase to age gracefully, I recall him on some magazine cover when he was fifty, he legitimately looked 25. I always had hope he was immortal.

Its always surprising when skinny people die so young, but then I read recently that living healthy doesn't really extend your lifespan. It's genetic.

I have mixed feelings about the movie, but I was reminded today of how brilliant Bowie was as Nikola Tesla in The Prestige. Inspired bit of casting.

That was great and he played it with such class.
