Looking at the list now. There are a few in Franklin and Worcester counties that I've never even heard of.

One quibble:
Amherst: Everyone I know gives the "H" more emphasis when talking about the town or UMass. But many people say it the way you do when referring to Amherst college.

I pronounced it correctly. If you really pronounce the H you're referring to the town in New Hampshire.
I remember it thus: With Amherst, you drop the H. With Northampton, you add an H.
