you and i, i think we can take it
you are my face
bull black nova has been stuck in my head for awhile now
i remember when i first heard the opening moments of that track, i was thinking, "wow, this is YHF material." then it just kept droning on without really changing, and i changed my mind and skipped it. i really don't like that album.
so you're saying it goes from yhf to agib?
maybe droning was the wrong way to describe a song i don't like, because i do enjoy the droning moments on AGIB. the songs on SBS, self-titled, and a fair amount of TWL just seem static. so much of what appealed to me about wilco from being there through AGIB was that the songs ended in such a different place from where they began.
tweedy can s our d's
side with the seeds, indeed
i love that song...nels cline really can s my d in the purest manner

i sometimes have a lenny-esque flash of driving through a particular section of lexington, kentucky while listening to that album the day it was released and feeling very angry at how bad it was.

Bull Black Nova is a beast live. I love it. The rest of the album pretty much sucks though.

And Strat, I think that there are a couple of Wilco songs better than Jesus, etc. on that album, let alone in the rest of their catalogue.

Humble brag post of the day: I went to a Jeff Tweedy living room show a couple of years ago. And the best version of that song I've ever heard was Jeff playing acoustic with a girl playing violin. It was slower and more stripped down . . . and absolutely perfect.

If he ever does them again, and if you're willing to fly out here for it, I may be able to help arrange it.
