I thought he was supposed to be smart or something.
He'd be better with practice, but yeah that was not a good booth appearance.

The dirty ass Denver defense (DADD) didn't let you down tonight.

Was a little uncomfortable with the headshots Newton took last night. Some were unintentional, but that what they are supposedly removing, there will be fines, but that was a bad night.

The roughing the passer/intentional grounding one was especially brutal.

I've never understood why personal fouls can be offset by garden variety fouls. They should instead enforce both of them. But I need to rewatch the game to see how many of those hits took place when Cam was a runner instead of a passer.

That was a tough one too because he was well outside of the tackle box when he threw it away. I agree though, a personal foul should never be offset by a regular penalty unless it is a scoring play or something like that.

That hit by Marshall (#54) looks like the worst of the bunch. Was it flagged? I fell asleep during the second half.

I believe it was, but that's the one that was offset by intentional grounding.

The Stewart one is obviously a foul.
The Marshall one is tough to see from that view, there's another angle out there where he's leading with his forearm but it's also not a complete view. I don't know if his intent was to go helmet to helmet but if he makes content anyway the intent doesn't matter.
The Miller one is one of those side to side helmet collisions that I don't think I've ever seen called. Maybe it should be, I don't know what the specific rules are on that. He did the same thing on his Super Bowl sack of Newton:

No, that was Stewart's.

Oh cool, even shittier cuz he was outside the hash marks on both Stewart hits.

In those clips they're replaying the same Stewart hit. Don't know if he had another one. And yes, he was outside the tackle box, bad call.

Way outside. Enjoy all the calls this year, champ.

I should be biased and cut him some slack.

It looked to me like Von was going in for anther strip and Ware kind of tossed Cam into him. It looks bad but I really don't think Von had any intention of going for his head.
I saw a view somewhere of the Marshall hit that showed contact. He definitely got him with the crown of his helmet. It looked pretty intentional.
And yes, Stewart will be getting a letter from the league.

Wasn't his throw short of the line of scrimmage though? If that's the case, then it can still be grounding even if he's outside the tackle box. I thought that was part of the grounding rule, but maybe I'm wrong? Or you are saying that the hit made the ball fall short of the line, which should not result in grounding at that point?

I just rewatched the play, and you're correct--I retract my earlier statement.
