In all seriousness, though, what bugs me most about this trailer is the tone--it's way too serious. Jackson's LOTR trilogy was intense in parts, but it also had so much vivacity, humor, and tender moments. This is of course a whole new series with new filmmakers, so they can do what they want, and of course it can still be good, but the LOTR film world has always been, for me, first and foremost fun, and it'd be great if some of that carried over.
I heard there’s a storyline where a young, spunky Arwen is kidnapped.
They filmed on location, so at least she'll be able to run.
I just hope we get Flea as an orc with no makeup or prosthetics.

Saves money on costuming if he's only got to wear a sock.

You haven’t read the silmarillion. There’s no ‘fun’ anywhere to be found in it. And that’s the source material.

I can't bring myself to be the slightest bit interested in this. It should be right up my alley.

It's hard to get excited about a Jeff Bezos joint

Yesterday I had a co-worker bring me a concern about a client whose name didn’t match their email address, she worried maybe it wasn’t the same person, and I had to explain to her that the email address was named after your boy Bilbo.

Looks like the review embargo on this is expiring. The first 2 episodes are going to be available Thursday night at 11:00PM EST from what I understand.

I liked the last couple trailers and am looking forward to it.
The initial reactions to the first two episodes of the Amazon adaptation are promising, with 'The Guardian' calling the prequel “so astounding it makes ‘House of the Dragon’ look amateur.”
Only Norwegian review I’ve read so far, loved the first two episodes.
