So these seem like a good purchase so far. Played side four of Mule Variations, a little bit of the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and now 24 hour revenge therapy by Jawbreaker. Very good mid range sound. The bass isn't overwhelming, which is interesting to listen to after spending a few years with a more modern, 'punchy' pair of speakers.

Plus, they make my setup look cooler...

Huge upgrade to sound with my ortofon 2m red. Immediately noticed the difference. Much warmer. Speakers sound better because of it!

Yeah the bass isn't overwhelming for sure. But once I got used to that, and then listened to the set of bose speakers in the living room that have a much punchier sound, I absolutely prefer the dynacos.

What do you guys know about "Advent" Speakers.

I have no idea what year they are or the model right now. My boss has them at the office and has them propped up near the ceiling. I haven't seen them used in 5 years but was curious. maybe I can liberate them if they are worth it.

My table has this cartridge. Its the only table I've ever had so I don't have much to compare it to but everyone says the Red is one of the best bangs for your buck.

When I was looking around and ended up with my dynacos, I came across a set of advents as well. I thought the dynacos sounded significantly better. Not sure what model the advents were either.

Ahhh!!!... A25's and an Ortofon 2m Red. I spent hours with that combination running through a vintage Marantz amplifier.
It's true that the A25's might not be the bass-heavy speakers that you'd expect from modern gear, but they are much more accurate. They opened my eyes (ears?) to what a transparent and detailed setup could sound like.

Here's how my setup looked 4 years ago when we moved into our house
(Marantz 1030/105B, Rega Planar 3 with 2M Red, Dynaco A25's)

Here is how the living room setup looks today which is probably 10x the price. I've swapped around a lot of gear (and my gf has done plenty of decorating  ) but I still have the Marantz/Dynaco running in my basement and I love it. I don't think I'll ever sell my A25's.

(Rega Elicit-R Amplifier, Rega RP3 turntable with Exact cartridge, B&W 805N speakers)

The WAF requires that they be stashed away. I keep the current LPs that are in rotation in the built-in cabinets next to the fireplace. I can keep around 50-75 records in the living room that way. The rest are in the basement (with the Dynacos!). They're stored on an Ikea expedit shelf... which can only be described as "organized chaos". Here's the only pic I had on my phone... bonus points if you can spot the Tauntaun!

You guys ever buy from ccmusic.com? I just stumbled upon this site and they have really good prices.
Plus there is a 20% of promo code now on orders over $60 (JAN1520). I just placed this order....

Arctic Monkeys Humbug.... REG $16.58 PROMO $13.26
Arctic Monkeys Suck It & See.... REG $15.75 PROMO $12.60
Wilco Being There.... REG $20.73 PROMO $16.58
Wilco Summerteeth.... REG $20.73 PROMO $16.58

Even with the bad US>Canadian exchange this still works out to a good deal.
Now I'll just wait to see what their packaging/shipping is like.
