I just accidentally listened to a Joanna Newsom song and was whisked away to a faraway land where I was kidnapped by a dragon-hybrid named Ganon and waited for a little boy to save me

Richard Thompson is such a gem. So glad we have him.

Okkervil River not being one of the biggest indie acts of the 2000s makes me angry. They should be right up there with bands like Arcade Fire. Black Sheep Boy is one of the best albums of the 2000s. The Stage Names is up there, too.

I tend NOT to get overly nostalgic about music in general. I hear a lot of people say stuff like, "this reminds of this time in my life" and I just don't really do that. Luckily, my wife is the same way. We watched "Say Anything..." on our first date, but neither one of us wants to hear that shitty Peter Gabriel song again.

i can see where they wouldn't be one of the biggest acts, but they're definitely underrated

Which is a worse band name:
The Pains of Being Pure At Heart
or
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
both of them make me want to never want to listen to music again.

Definitely The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is kinda stupid but TPOBPAH is stupid and makes me think the whole band is made up of really really obnoxious and self important people.

God, I'm so pissed off and saddened that I'll never get to hear Jorge's thoughts on Richard Thompson.

A lot of popular tunes, from the 70s on up, are being hijacked and re-recorded....
the new commercial versions have no soul.
its like there is 2 ways to interpret it...I want the band to make that decision, not a plastic corporation,.

I walked by someone in a parking lot blaring John Mellencamp from their car. That is maybe the single lamest thing I've ever heard blared from a car.
