Seems like I know more people who have tested positive in the past week or so than at any one time since all this started. Luckily they’re all mild, or at least non hospitalized.

Spoke to a friend who is a NICU nurse in Sioux Falls. They’re running 7:1 in the NICU right now (usually, you’d expect it to be 1:1). Can’t rotate anyone else in because they are understaffed and swarmed with Covid patients. No one is getting time off for Christmas. Whole situation sucks.

That would be horrible. Or did you mean ICU?

Is the implication that babies are being born with covid? Or that omicron is so contagious that babies are being born and then immediately catching covid?

The COVID case load is so severe right now that they’re having to stretch staffing arrangements to the breaking point in other areas just to maintain service.

I think the idea is that they are all dealing with Covid patients so can't deal with babies, in which case it sounds like that hospital should really rethink its priorities.

My dad had a follow up appointment with his pulmonologist. My mom said that the doc looks like she has aged 5 years since their last appointment in July.
