I should write a review for the film. I have so many thoughts about it. I was blown away.

That would certainly be entertaining. But I don't think I'd wish to put LV through that.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

No, I’m an adult. They are cartoon toys. I don’t get the weird emotional investment people have in this franchise.
The Toy Story series has never done it for me either, it's weird.

Watched Darkest Hour the other day. Was this movie filmed in a smoke making factory?

The Florida Project.

I love the framing, the cinematography, the acting..it was actually taking me somewhere and then...that ending. So safe. So out of place.
Im disappointed specially because i love Sean Baker's work.

Oh man, the ending wrecked me. I'm not sure what was so "safe" about it. Especially in context. But I'm super bummed that it didn't work for you. I know you were excited for the film.

I still liked the movie though. Baker is one of the best for sure. He has the vision.
Spoiler: show
The disney montage...it felt safe and kinda cheap. We have been watching the real life of this girls, never had a fantasy moment and when the shit got more real he kinda bails out and makes sort of a happy ending? It was way more powerful to have the two girls saying goodbye

The Purge - Election Year. Not sure what I expected. It was passable

I see what you mean but I think it worked. It was the message and power behind rusty very juxtaposition that was so meaningful and impactful to me.

But I get what you're saying.

Its still a wonderful movie, a triumph of aesthetics and an incredible way to handle a cast.

It's a weird movie. I really liked it when I saw it, but the more I think about it the more conflicted I am about it. There are some strange tonal shifts that just do not work
