Even if somebody is emotionally mature as a child, their brain still hasn’t fully developed so they will essentially be a different person when they grow up.

Thinking it should be illegal to let people under 18 make massive life altering decisions, especially without parental consent: a radical extremist position in the year 2022!

Is this about gender rights or minor rights. Just a thought. It seams you have certain rights once you are of a age where as a society say at that age the average human has the depth of understanding make certain decisions. Which I believe is good it protects the overall health of our species.
