The map app is great. The weather app doth however sucketh.
I use Google maps to search for places.
I use Apple Maps for driving directions just bc I like the way it looks better than google maps as I glance at my phone screen while driving.

I'm just kidding. This bar next to where I used to live was doing trivia nights, but you had to download an app on your phone. Wtf? How do you keep people from cheating? Why the fuck do you need an app for everything these days? So dumb.

Not as bad as QR codes. Some parking lots/garages require QR codes in order to pay now, and I heard scammers have found a way to get people to pay into their accounts by putting a false QR code on top of the real one.

I just like trivia. I don't think I've ever been to a trivia night at a pub though. But I like beer too, so I'da thunk I would enjoy a trivia night at a pub.

Beer is great. Trivia is also fun. But any organized group activity at a bar is not my jam. That kind of thing is antithetical to being at a bar, for me.Higgs wrote:I just like trivia. Dear Lord, please give me something structured. What am I supposed to do? Chat with people about their jobs or favorite sports teams? That's what RM is for.
Please consider voting for me

If I'm at a bar alone I want be left alone to read or write or just sit there and fucking think. If I'm there with friends I want to chat with my friends about whatever we want to chat about, not deal with some hipster emcee yelling puns through a microphone at me.

Being at a bar alone "to think" is more antithetical to being in a bar than trivia, IMO. I see bars as predominantly social spaces

I guess it depends on the bar, though. I don't go to bars very often so I could be fully wrong

The only pub quizzes I've been to have been held in function rooms or away from the main bar area. They're a lot of fun but I can see how they could be annoying to deal with in a main bar area.

Not as annoying as talking to Joe "in peace", though.
