In the show, he's te large black man with the huge axe looking weapon. In the books he is a complete badass.
The way the show handled the Dornish storyline was a fucking travesty.
so much this
Yeah. Honestly, I've only re-watched a little of season 1 since reading the books, but I have a feeling the Dorne stuff isn't the only thing that was grossly mishandled. Hesitantly, I still think they did a respectable job filtering and condensing things down, and most of their character choices were excellent.

Still waiting on a few regular voters. I'll close this one up tonight.

Yeah, they really fucked up the Dorne stuff. Not that he's a main character, but I guess you'd just have to read the book to know the difference and understand.

I'm okay with most of the narrative changes that they've made. It's such a sprawling, far reaching story that it would have been impossible to faithfully bring it to life. I was even okay with the Sansa storyline from last season, as it gave Sansa something to do other than endlessly hang out in the vale, while simultaneously avoiding the convoluted fake Arya/Jeyne Poole storyline. But they took a really interesting Dorne story and stripped out everything from the books that made it great, while simultaneously wasting Alexander Siddig by cutting out all of Doran's great parts (where the hell was the "fire and blood" speech?). Instead, we got a poorly filmed, shoddily written distraction which seemed like an ill-conceived excuse to keep Bronn on screen for another season. Hopefully they learned their lesson this year. Both Jamie and Brienne seem to be headed back to the riverlands. If they fuck up Stoneheart I'll be livid.

Are we getting Stoneheart? I thought she was cut from the series.

Spoiler: show
Well, the show is returning to the riverlands this season, and both Jamie and Brienne are likely there. And one of the casting calls was for a character that sounds a whole lot like Merrett Frey, whose only role in the story is getting strung up by Stoneheart. It's probably wishful thinking, but if Stoneheart is going to show up, this is the year.

Wow. I suppose I've not really kept up on season 6 speculation, but that's big.
