When I was teaching in Minnesota, I used to take this dirt road off a dirt road home so I could stop at a particular middle-of-nowhere wind farm. It was delightfully creepy, standing out in the middle of this frozen wasteland with no sign of life for miles around...just me and these gigantic, sentinel-like turbines, silently spinning in the grey.

I don't know if this is some kind of McP-cryptic-sarcasm post or not, but when I used to survey wind farms in the middle of central washington, it was beautiful. Some of the most peaceful times I've ever had. And it was so dystopian feeling. It was wonderful.
