I mean, taken in the same light as the rest of the movie I guess I have to agree with you. The film itself though is just straight garbage fire. There was so much random ADR...just, wtf were they even thinking with the script? Was there a script?
Great, visionary directors don't need scripts.
This is 100% true
100% true sometimes.

People's reactions to Dunkirk make me feel insane. I don't think I've detested a movie more in the last 5 years

At first I thought you were talking about it's lack of script being a good thing but then I saw Michael Clayton. How anyone got a script credit on Dunkirk is beyond my ken. There were words in it?

Dunkirk was one of my least favorite films of the last year.

Dunkirk's biggest problems definitely weren't at the script level.

It's Nolan's insane approach to sound.

And editing. And human emotion.

Dunkirk is not Nolan's best but it has a lot of things to like about it.

I only saw parts of it. It didn't leave much of an impression.

You Were Never Really There.

Loved it. Gorgeous photography, cool edition, another amazing performance from Phoenix...Lynne Ramsay did it again.
The story reminds me a bit of the novel Galveston which i love...and yes, another brilliant score from Jonny Greenwood.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

What's so bad about it? I was thinking of renting it, but the mixed reviews have me questioning that possible decision.
