I just watched the Rise of Skywalker extras, and I don't understand why that necessitated releasing the mandalorian 2 days early.

I just read a review of today's episode. It said to DEFINITELY watch it before the movie. It sets up something big that happens in the movie. It didn't spoil anything, but said it had to be watched before the movie.

Exactly. There's no way.

Nah, this is just hype I think. I didn't see anything major in the episode, and I haven't seen anything about BY being in the movie

There is a rumor that if you dont have disney, you wont understand the episode at all, therefore your view of TROS is ruined.

What a great episode! That's more like it.

It is an explainer for the movie, but not a big deal. If you did not see it on Mandalorian you will just accept it in the movie because Mary Sue. The episode is one of the best because it finally opens the series up to where Mando is going to need more help and not just go on single person shooter missions.

I liked the second ep better than the first. I’m fully onboard with the main theme music. The rest is pedestrian. I think my expectations going in were too high in terms of the narrative and thus I’m left a bit wanting at the story being told thus far, i.e. “when is this show going to kick into high gear?” The stakes feel too low. I’m probably judging it too harshly and need to give it time to develop.
Each episode is better than the last. I liked the score throughout in E3. Agree with everything durdencommatyler said. Action sequences are good but clunky. I expect Mandos to fight at Jason Bourne speed. They all moved like overweight chonks with jetpacks. WHEN CAN I BUY THE ALL-BESKAR MANDO ACTION FIGURE?
I enjoyed this ep but it was not an improvement. I'm still struggling to reconcile my expectations and desire for higher stakes with what we're being given (though I recognize high stakes may be right in front of our faces with Baby Yoda and what his existence could mean). I'm in love with the theme song. Gina Carano is not good at acting. The script isn't doing her any favors either. The bar server's performance made Gina Carano look like Meryl Streep (FYI: that was Josh Gad's wife).
Episode 5 looked good. That’s about all I can say that’s positive. The show is fine for what it is but this isn’t what I was hoping for (stakes, plot, darker tone, good acting, a good score, Ewoks, etc.). The whole affair feels way too conservative.
That was a fun episode from top to bottom. Looked great.
Great episode. Tons of fun and a big improvement tonally. It was not Carl Weathers’ finest hour acting-wise.

Was that Robin Quivers in the bar?

I'm glad someone else thought Carl was a little wooden there. wow. you didn't want to go for maybe a second pass on some of those lines?

His hammy orating is completely mesmerizing. It’s as hard to disengage from as a breath-taking method performance. It’s like he went so far in the wrong direction that he sends your internal “this is worth watching” compass spiraling.

"Dude, it's time to go see Rise of Skywalker! I bought these tickets on Fandango months ago!"

"Fuck that, man! The Mandalorian is available, and I can only watch that, literally, any time before and/or after I watch that movie. We're staying home!"
