Damn you all to hell.

I surprised how much this song has improved with each listen. The frantic energy is really appealing.

It’s fairly evident and obvious which lyrics could reference him. Hint: it’s at least half of them.
there's a fair bit you need to explain away for this to fit, though. Like the fact that the object of the song seems to be female, to start.
that
right, cuz writers never throw people off the scent.

I got through 40 pages of comments before deciding to resume.
It's got so much of the bad qualities of the post Riot Act money grab, and I've given it 10 spins and still am bored by it.
Reminds me of how disappointed I was in hearing WWS and The Fixer for the first time

I dunno about Cornell as topic, but I don’t think this song is about a woman.
I mean, we just went over the use of gender in writing that relies on personification as a way to model or symbolize, when dealing with Dance of the Clairvoyants.

Take the pointless solo and Vedder’s lazy low to high/ I’m gonna see my friend yelp out and it’s a pretty catchy song. Brendan would’ve took the scalpel to that shit and made it spritzy

Hadn't listened to this in a couple days. Decided to watch the tiny video. And, didn't mind the song too much. Hm.

I don't know. I don't think Ed can pull this off live.

Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
I can hear you, sing in the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes
Once you were somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I want what's right
I ask for forgiveness, I'm begging myself
feeling angry, now get off the stage
Right now I feel, a lack of innocence searching for reveal
hypnotonic resonance I feel
not much of anything, and the cause is life or death
A life of hopelessness, focus on fucks all your focusedness
I've been hoping that a hope doesdies last
I don't know anything, I question everything
This life I love is going way too fast
Both my eyes are swollen
my face is broken
And I'm hopin that I hurt your
hopin that I hurt your
hopin that I hurt your fist
She was a stunner, and I am stunned
And the first thought or second thought was 'could be the one'
I was a prisoner, of keys and of cuffs
Yeah I was feeling fortunate to be locked up
But the world got to spinnin, always felt like it was ending
and love not withstanding we are each of us fucked
I'm in danger, feelin the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes
Once you were somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I want what's right
I ask for forgiveness, I'm begging myself
feelin angry now get off the stage
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
Superblood Wolfmoon, took her away too soon
I can hear you, seen sing in the distance
I can see you when I close my eyes
Once you were somewhere, and now you're everywhere
I'm feeling selfish and I want what's right
Focus on your focusness, to a life of hopeless’s
I've been hoping and I hope that lasts
I don't know anything, I question everything
This life I love is going way too fast
Edits for the header, stip

I added a change - do others hear it?
i think the second ‘get off the stage’ is shelf
so it’s about a shelf elf and not cornell

I'm not as worried about Ed pulling this off live as I am that Matt will smash through it at break-neck speed and Ed won't be able to keep up; I don't know why we don't ascribe "Ed's problem" to Matt more often, tbh

I don't think that matters. That's just a device to disguise the character a little.

I get the Cornell references for sure but I have also had this feeling that it could also be taken as a less somber version of Sad thematically. A reflection of someone losing a partner and the guilt associated but more of a romantic relationship.
