Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

Try reminds me of a Mike Mcready song kinda like Down. Fall Out Today has some more Petty vibes.

This is shaping up nicely Americana garage rock. Maybe a little bit like The Rising to. Looking forward to friday.

those are nice enough; Fallout Today isn't that exciting but it's OK

Mrs Mills is a Counting Crows song, and lo and behold the lyrics aren't bad at all

why does he only try lyrically sometimes?

I would never have imagined that a song called Mrs. Mills would be the sleeper hit for me

Fallout Today – Average at best. May be perfectly inoffensive on the record.

Mrs. Mills – Sounded pretty nice, like it could be a grower. Seems even more likely to at least sound interesting on the album.

Invincible – A casual listen suggests we're in seriously sappy lyrical territory, but if the production is good this might sound pretty huge.

that spoken word part in Invincible is delivered with so little irony it almost comes off as "fun" as it should

Pretty common thing for singers to do, especially with new material and with covers. I love clowning on Ed but that's normal

There’s a blu ray release of Bruce Springsteen playing Hyde Park, maybe 2009 or so and the video is so sharp you can read the lyrics off the cheat screens mildly hidden at everyone’s spot on stage as they scroll down. To Bruce’s credit, he is often standing in spaces where he wouldn’t be able to see them and you can only see him now and then straight up reading them off - though I would think it would be distracting for them given they have been performing the same songs sometimes for well over 40 years.

Is he reading off a screen or his composition notebook? Important distinction for street cred purposes (I too can clown!)

At this point i rather ed have lyric help instead of butchering the lyrics as he seems to be doing more and more with the catalogue continuing to grow.

I think he has been better the last couple of tours.

And i dont remember any lyric mistake in the three shows from last year.
